Shoegaze ist die Kunst des Dröhnens, doch „Everything Is Alive“ setzt diese Elemente nur sparsam ein. Statt Hall- und Zerr-Sounds aufzutürmen, schäumt die Musik in feinen Bläschen über.

So happy to see a new Auburn Lull album after all these years. It's short but vital, picking up seamlessly where Begin Civil Twilight left off but demonstrating evolution and originality. Every song adds something new to their canon. Of the many bands who count Slowdive as ancestors, Auburn Lull are probably the only one keeping the spirit of Pygmalion alive - and perhaps also latter period Talk Talk. Hope this marks the start of a fertile spell for the band! Simon Booth
Pieces shot through with opaque light, sun behind clouds, calm without dozing, conjuring open spaces - mysterious and welcoming. It glows softly.
(I also appreciate how difficult it is to identify the instrumentation; electronics are involved, but is that all? Plucked strings? Effects or synths?) IlsaJ
